Mark is a graduate from the University of Illinois – Chicago, with a Bachelor of Architecture in Design.

His early career was with Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, and then as senior designer for Murray Duncan Architects, and then B3 – Berkus Design Studio.

In 1998 he started his own company Mark Wienke Architect.

In 2007 he created CP+MW: a joint venture, with Christine Pierron

In 2009 he created Workshop Architecture Group, Inc, with Mat Gradias

In 2011 he moved his practice to San Diego, California
